Seaton Park Primary School provides a Specialist Soccer and Futsal Program in partnership with Football Federation South Australia (FFSA). Seaton Park Primary School is one of only two schools in South Australia identified as a primary school soccer specialist school.
Qualified coaches endorsed by Football Federation South Australia provide the Specialist Soccer and Futsal Program. Participants receive specialised coaching in futsal and soccer for two hours every week, aligned with the Australian Curriculum and the FFSA training development programs. The program focuses on the Skills Acquisition Phase and developing the four core skills associated with ball possession, including striking the ball, first touch, 1v1 and running with the ball.
Seaton Park Primary School has excellent facilities for soccer and futsal, including a school gymnasium with futsal goals. Students will be able to play in local soccer and futsal competitions throughout the year and will be supported to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding of soccer and futsal. Participating in the program could also help pathways into high school specialist programs.
Boys and girls in years three, four, five and six are eligible to apply to be part of the Specialist Soccer and Futsal Program. There will be a maximum of 12-15 places available in the program each year with trials to be conducted for selection during term 3.
