Maths
Maths develops the numeracy capabilities that
all students need in their personal, work and civic life
At Seaton Park Primary School we explicitly plan for and teach all three strands that include:
- Number and algebra
- Measurement and geometry
- Statistics and probability
We have a consistent whole school approach to the teaching and learning of mathematics that has a strong focus on children engaging in problem solving tasks. Educators then plan for and explicitly teach the misconceptions that children might have. We have a maths coach that supports and works alongside educators and ensures that we are using current and ‘best practice’ methodologies to ensure that every child is achieving.
