Valuing students culture
and connection to land
We recognise and celebrate the cultural knowledge of our Aboriginal students at Seaton Park Primary School. We currently have a part time Aboriginal Education Teacher (AET) who works
alongside our Aboriginal Community Education Officer (ACEO).
Our AET tracks and monitors our Aboriginal students learning and provides individual support to improve their learning and
wellbeing. Our ACEO works in classes to provide extra support with the curriculum. They also run an Aboriginal group once a week where students participate in a variety of different cultural activities.
We also ensure that we teach Aboriginal culture to all students as part of the HASS curriculum and celebrate Reconciliation and NAIDOC weeks throughout the year. At Seaton Park we value the
culture and knowledge that Aboriginal students bring to school every day.
