Supporting and celebrating students who
speak English as an additional language

Seaton Park Primary School provides a welcoming and inclusive learning environment. We celebrate and value the cultural diversity of our school community.

Students who are learning English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D) are provided with additional support in the learning of language and literacy to support access to curriculum content in order to develop proficiency in Standard Australian English.

EAL/D students are supported in different ways depending on their needs. Seaton Park Primary School currently has a part time EAL/D teacher who works collaboratively with classroom teachers with strategies to further develop English language acquisition in class lessons. Support is also provided through working with students in small groups to focus on specific language needs.

At Seaton Park Primary School, our teaching staff provide teaching and learning programs so that each student can experience success in their learning.
